We finally made it past the portage and loaded up our canoe one last time as we prepared for the last leg of our adventure. As experienced as we were, and being on a river now instead of a lake, there were still moments of indecision on which direction we needed to travel. All summer we've been watching the weather posted from a nearby resort Seagull Outfitters webcam and Scott recognized the resort on the river, so we knew we were on the right track.
I wish I would have had the GoPro running during the next portion where there was a little babbling brook portion we managed to safely navigate, but I do have these other two short videos of our last day on the water.
Finally, just after noon we made it back to Voyageur Canoe Outfitters. It felt great to finally have a shower and clean hair, not to mention clean clothes.
The drive home was nice and there was no traffic because everyone was going up North for the holiday weekend and we were headed in the opposite direction back to civilization.
