The last day of the Florida State Fair brought a close to the annual food fest. I don't usually like to go the last day because who knows how old the food is, the fryer grease, and how dirty those surfaces are. But we did have some corn on the cob, and some Yakisoba noodles and we haven't died yet. I was so looking forward to Poutine but they were out of the cheese curds. They didn't know how popular it would be! So, after grabbing a bite to eat we meandered into the concert hall for the free Charlie Daniels concert that evening. Of course I talked to the stranger next to me, and it happened to be a nice couple from Wabasha, MN on their winter break in Florida. We compared fair food stories, and reminisced about how the fair food in FL can never compare to the Minnesota State Fair.
The concert was great and good ol' Charlie is still kicking at 78 years old. He still has a great voice and the stamina to put on a 90 minute show strumming his guitars and that worn out fiddle of his. This was the first show of his 2015 concert tour, and it looks to be a good one.
