This week we made a last minute decision to go to the @LionelRichie #Concert Monday 7/14/14 at the amphitheatre. It was a nice evening and the cheap tickets were only $27. That price is similar to a festival or Busch Gardens concert price, so it was definitely a deal. Lionel Richie has not toured in a long time, and its been 14 years since he came to Tampa. At age 65, it might be his last time here, although he looked great and sounded great. He definitely has not lost any of his talent. He put on a great show to 8500 guests and interjected some funny commentary between songs. He knows he has two groups of fans, those who grew up with him in the 80's and those who are kids or grandkids of the boomers who grew up listening to Lionel Richie. He joked about how when you come home we used to grab our album, or CD, or cassette or 8 track and settle down to listen to Lionel Richie. I still have cassettes and CD's too. LOL
Even though we had cheap seats, it was a great show with big screens and a top notch sound system. There was plenty of room to spread out when the annoying guys around us started singing. Now we can cross that one off the bucket list. Here's the setlist.
