Happy October

10/01/2008
Well nothing profound to declare today, except I hope the bailout fails vote again. We've been busy around the house with no travel planned til our cruise in November. We sold the 1985 Honda motorcycle and I'm shopping for a new one. I do have the 2002 Rebel but I'm going to sell that to make money for a new one. I'm still having troubles with bicycles - broken spoke yesterday on my Trek, and flat tires before that on my Columbia. I really want a new bicycle but they are in such high demand now its out of stock until at least December or January. So it looks like I need to repair the ones I have. This is such a great time of year to ride when its in the 60's in the morning and no wind to speak of. Its interesting to ride because I do notice more people being considerate - less cutoffs and people coming out in front of me. Of course, there are lots of motorcycles on the road too. The trend will continue as prices increase and economy worsens - which it will. I do occasionally get a thumbs up from other drivers as they see me do a "track stand" and balance on my bike while waiting for that stop light to change, or when they read my bumper sticker stapled to my pannier "Read my Lipstick, I'm Voting Democrat". I love bike riding with a passion, it makes me feel so good! Y'all should try it.
